The Fort Hotel, Margate

View Other Projects

Kent Construction Consultants have been appointed as the clients Quantity Surveyors to deliver the redevelopment of the Fort hotel located in Margate.

The Fort Road Hotel sits atop the cliff with direct sea and beach views and overlooking Margate’s celebrated Turner Gallery. It was derelict since being abandoned in the 1990s when it was last used as an HMO. As a prominent building in Margate’s Old Town Conservation Area, and with anecdotal evidence of JMW Turner being a patron, the building has been the subject of several campaigns for listing. The building will reopen as a prestigious luxury hotel in 2022.

Our appointment includes the tendering, contract award and subcontract delivery management utilising local subcontractors specialising in heritage redevelopments and high end bespoke internal fit-out.

As an independent practice based near Margate, we are extremely pleased to be involved in the regeneration of the former hotel working alongside the various consultants and designers.
