Assistant Quantity Surveyor

James spent 4 years studying at Nottingham Trent University studying BA Hons Accounting and Finance. Giving James a strong foundation in the financial aspect by studying modules such as corporate reporting and management accounting. James has the opportunity to apply this knowledge to the new disciplines a quantity survey role requires. 

James worked for a local accountancy firm called Achieving Clarity, where he gained valuable experience dealing with clients and assisting senior Accountants. Since joining Kent Construction Consultants James has been involved in multiple projects gaining vital experience and learning immensely from his colleagues. The roles James has been given whilst at the Practice includes Payment Notice Certificate, Measurements, Cost Planning and drafting Contracts. 

James has also had a responsibility as being a buyer for three large residential schemes. Prompting him to think on his feet and learn the rates of all types of materials and plant required for a site. This knowledge is vital when producing cost plans. James has a strong mathematical ability through his Degree and A Level in Mathematics. 

James is relatively new to the industry and has been working on numerous projects to learn as much as he can from these schemes. He has recently been sponsored by the Practice to join the Chartered Institute of Building membership route. 

James is an avid football fan and aspires to travel around Europe watching different clubs experiencing the culture of these places. James also plays football for numerous football teams in the local area. James has the aspiration to complete the London marathon, sponsored by Kent Construction Consultants.
